CORSARO 1200 ZZ: AN HISTORICAL NAME FOR A NEW BIKE
HANDCRAFTED WITH ITALIAN COMPONENTS

The soul of the bike hasn’t changed: indomitable, furious, fearless. Everything else, however, is
completely new. With the Corsaro 1200 ZZ Moto Morini introduces a bike that has been
revolutionized. In conforming to the Euro 4 standard, major issues were addressed, while
maintaining the character of the Bialbero 1200 CorsaCorta that has always stood out from other
naked bikes since its debut in 2005. All with a fresh look designed by Rodolfo Frascoli, who had
already created the first Corsaro and has now incorporated and enhanced the distinctive features
of the model. Starting with the new front headlamp that emphasises the younger generation of the
bike, while preserving its timeless “look”. The racing dashboard is also new, digital and fully
customizable, which helps put the Corsaro at the top of its category.

ITALIAN AND HANDCRAFTED
The Corsaro 1200 ZZ is Italian through and through: 99% of its components come from Italian
companies, a deliberate choice by Moto Morini to offer the highest quality in every part, quality
guaranteed even in its handcrafted assembly, from the two-cylinder engine to the finished
motorcycle, all within the new factory in Trivolzio, situated between Milan and Pavia. The name of
the new Corsaro evokes that of the classic Corsarino ZZ, launched in 1965, the sportiest bike in the
range at that time.

SAME CHARACTER, NEW ELECTRONICS
The first and most important change concerns the ABS system included as standard: the new
Corsaro 1200 ZZ is mounted with the dual channel Bosch 9.1 MP ABS, optimized for the
characteristics of the large, naked bike. Furthermore, in order to provide maximum versatility for
the rider, the system can be switched off via a button on the handlebar. In addition, the new
engine management system has made the twin-cylinder 1200 compliant with the rules for Euro 4
emissions and noise levels – with the help of the Zard twin exhaust – also enhancing fluidity while
reducing fuel consumption. To manage the exuberance of even the fastest riders, the slipper clutch
helps in the most aggressive braking situations. While never forgetting the skills of the biker, of
course.

THE BEST COMPONENTS
The chassis of the new Moto Morini Corsaro 1200 ZZ is based on the well-known steel trellis, but
with optimized frame geometry matched to the new components. The front end is fitted with Mupo
fork legs machined from a solid block with adjustable compression, rebound damping and preload
settings that allow for 135 mm of wheel travel, to combine high-speed stability with comfort for a
stress-free ride. The fork rods come with optional DLC coating (diamond like carbon), a carbonbased
treatment that improves smoothness, as well as adding to the look with their attractive black
colour. The fully adjustable rear shock absorber was also designed specifically for Moto Morini
(compression, rebound damping, length, and remote hydraulic preload). The braking system relies
on four-piston monoblock radial mount callipers, a double floating disc with 320 mm diameter and
a 16/19 semiradial pump, all designed by Brembo; while the rear braking system uses a specifically
designed two piston calliper with 220 mm disc. The 17” forged aluminium alloy wheels employ
award-winning Pirelli Diablo Rosso III dual compound tyres.

STANDARD SPECS? THAT’S ALL YOU NEED
The standard equipment of the new Corsaro 1200 ZZ also includes a 12V socket to power a GPS
navigator and the direction indicators in aluminium machined from a solid block. Also new is the
digital dashboard made by Italy’s AIM, with a 5” TFT display configurable by the driver who can
choose between different layouts; gear changing is always displayed on every screen. The lighting
system is now fully LED, from the new dual projector front headlamp with dual high beam / low
beam function, tail lights, license plate lights, and turn signals. Finally, to reduce weight and enhance
the sporty appearance, several body parts are made of carbon fibre as standard: the fairing, front
mudguard and underseat.
